Don't Foot Fault!

Don't foot fault, people will call you on it. If you draw an imaginary line directly through the center of your mini or disc to the pole,

Centralia's Foundation Park is South Central Illinois's finest disc golf course, and home to the Centralia Disc Golf Club. The flagship championship 18-hole layout was designed by David McCormack of Gateway Disc Sports. Across the road is a 9-hole recreational course for the family out for a casual round, or a quicker game for players that don't have time for the Champ 18. The 9-hole course will be expanded to 18 holes in the near future.

For those of you used to postage-stamp sized city park disc golf courses, the championship 18-hole will open your eyes. Seven thousand seven hundred and seventy six feet await (red tees), to challenge your physical and mental skills. To throw par (70, "A" pin placement, red tees) is a feat worthy of the most determined disc golfer. Pro blue tees, as well as 'B' positioning of the baskets, spread the course out longer for you heavy hitters. Bring your cannon, but you'll also need a soft touch and some finesse. As of 10/24/09 baskets are in 'A' pin positions.

Sentinel Shelter

Throughout the park an emphasis on maintaining a natural appearance is evident. Once you enter, you become surrounded by nature, with little notice to the outside world. One can be awed by the selection of plants and trees, as well as small animals who make the park their home. Despite the feeling of seclusion, you're never more than a few minutes from civilization.

The word "Foundation" by definition means that funds are given for the permanent support of an institution. Consequently it was named The Centralia Foundation Park System. Privately owned, privately funded, yet open to the public, free of charge.

Creek

The park is open to the public year-round from dawn until 11 pm daily. The main road is closed through the winter months. No alcoholic beverages are permitted. No motor vehicles are allowed off the road. There is no charge for using any of the park's facilities.

When visiting all we ask is that you take only memories, and leave only your footsteps.
